Specifies how a qvm process instance responds if any component or vdev it depends on is not certified for security.

Syntax

safety none|warn|required

Options

The possible values ​​are as follows:

none

Ignore the existence of non-secure components and continue to run;

warn

If any component is non-securely certified, issue a warning and continue;

required

If a component is not securely authenticated, issue an error message and move to DSS (refer to "QNX Hypervisor: Protection Features" chapter7.1/com.qnx.doc.hypervisor.user/topic/qhs/dss.html" title="Design Safe States">Design Safe States”)

Description

The default behavior of different QNX Hypervisors is as follows:

• QNX Hypervisor for Safety (QHS) — required
• QNX Hypervisor — none

Use the safety option to specify how each qvm process instance in your system responds to the vdevs and components that exist.

Note ️

This option really applies to QNX Hypervisor for Safety.Running a security-certified guest on a non-secure hypervisor host is not recommended.
